Bosch Rexroth said in a press release dated March 21, 2022 that it is expanding its collaborative robot portfolio to include Kassow Robots’ 7-axis cobots. The acquisition of a majority stake in Kassow Robots, it reads, enables Bosch Rexroth to offer comprehensive solutions, especially for the consumer goods and mobility industries, including battery manufacturing, as well as semiconductor manufacturing.

Bosch Rexroth’s decision is part of the company’s strategy to invest in factory automation. “Collaborative industrial robots are another important building block of the comprehensive Factory of the Future,” – said Dr. Marc Wucherer, a Bosch Rexroth board member who oversees factory sales and automation. Kassow Robots’ lightweight robots can be used in a variety of ways in industrial production. The cobots have a high payload and reach and can be used in tight spaces: with seven axes, Kassow Robots’ cobot can grab objects around corners like an arm – a unique flexibility in the market.

For our customers: Bosch Rexroth’s investment in Kassow Robots does not change the form and scope of Beboq Robotics, which remains an authorized distributor and integrator of the Kassow Robots brand.

“There is a huge demand for flexible robotic systems. The cobot market is expected to grow by 15 to 20 percent each year in the coming years. We want to capitalize on this potential and expand our portfolio with collaborative robots from Kassow Robots. This will benefit in particular our customers in the consumer goods and mobility industries, including battery manufacturing, as well as semiconductor manufacturing,” – Wucherer said. In 2019, global cobot sales totaled about $670 million (source: Interact Analysis, 2021).

Bosch Rexroth will facilitate Kassow Robots’ global expansion

“With Bosch Rexroth, we have found a partner who is an international leader in factory automation and who can help us expand our business. This will enable us to open new markets for our cobot portfolio,” explained Kristian Kassow, the company’s founder, managing director and co-owner.
