This fall, Kassow Robots expanded its product portfolio with the KR 1018, a new, extremely powerful model that can handle loads of up to 18 kilograms. The cobot itself weighs just 34 kilograms and features a very compact design, enabling it to meet the basic requirement for flexible automation solutions, especially in narrow spaces. The special target group of the company’s fifth 7-axis collaborative robot is industrial companies in the metalworking or woodworking industries, as well as other fields such as the food production sector, which want to take the weight off the hands and backs of their workers by assigning them more demanding tasks.
The Kassow Robots product family, which made its market debut in 2018 with the KR 810 model, now includes five 7-axis cobots that handle loads from 5 to 18 kilograms and offer a range of up to 850 to 1,800 mm – all at speeds of up to 225 degrees per second, with an empty weight of up to 38 kilograms. This makes Collaborative Robots the fastest and most versatile robots on the market.
The complete portfolio of the brand, whose distributor is beboq robotics, is as follows:
- KR 810 (850 mm reach / 10 kg payload) – strong and super compact,
- New! KR 1018 (1000mm / 18kg) – the market leader in collaborative robots for machine handling and moving heavy workpieces,
- KR 1205 (1200mm / 5kg) – economical solution for lightweight applications,
- KR 1410 (1400 mm / 10 kg) – strong, with reach and very fast,
- KR 1805 (1800 mm / 5 kg) – huge reach for light applications.
Each of the five collaborative robots can be used in virtually infinite industrial applications, including those involving human-robot collaboration, or made possible by a seventh axis that can reach around corners and offer a range of other possibilities.
The entire 7th-axis KR family of collaborative robots will excel primarily in machine operation, especially CNC machine tools and presses, but also in painting, gluing, welding, surface treatment (grinding and polishing). Obviously not inferior to standard 6th axis cobots in traction handling, packaging or palletizing applications.
“Compact, very powerful – but lightweight! This was the goal Kristian Kassow had in mind when he designed his cobots for flexible tasks in industrial companies, and he brought this design to life with the help of his team “
– says Dieter Pletscher, head of sales at Kassow Robots.
“Kristian sketched out five models in the business plan and all of them are now being sold on the market. All five models offer a unique combination of strength and speed. They are also easy to operate and program.”
– he adds.
Small and medium-sized businesses will benefit greatly by introducing or expanding lightweight robotic solutions in their operations. “Everyone has become familiar with the intuitive and user-friendly tablet technology in private life,” says Dieter Pletscher. “Therefore, small and medium-sized companies that had nothing to do with robotics in the past will be able to easily enter the world of programming our cobots.”
Important role of partner-integrators
The head of sales at Kassow Robots emphasized the role of partner-integrators for clinets. “Our integrator partners are also small and medium-sized companies that can put themselves in the shoes of customers when it comes to industrial automation. The integrator is the main contact person who can answer customer questions and help integrate our cobots into existing automation solutions.”
At beboq robotics, our vision for the customer approach and the way we think about problems has proven to be completely consistent with what Kassow Robots’ integrator partners are tasked with. Our passion, creativity and systemic approach to problem solving pays dividends by allowing us to build good partnerships (and robotic applications of course).
